Why I love the Dollar Store and the butcher!

A few months ago, a Dollar General store was put in on my side of town. This means that I don't have to drive to the nasty one on the West side (I really never went there because it was so bad). B & I popped in one Saturday on a vendetta of saving a little money, and we were hooked!

I went there yesterday and got Jello cups, fruit cups, juice for M, canned vegetables, Mac & Cheese, other box stuff, deoderant, and laundry detergent. I spent just over $34 and we came home with a LOT! If you want to save money, go to the Dollar Store!

Between that and the butcher in Dewey, I will only have to go to the grocery store for TV dinner things for my lunch, bread, eggs, milk, fruits, etc. We bought meat for about the entire month at the butcher, and we only spent $65. Oh, man! I wish I had known about this place years ago because there is no comparison on the quality of the meat or pork to the stores packages. My absolute favorite is the sausage. It isn't spicy at all, so M will eat it and he really likes it.

One of these days, I'm going to calculate the savings in it's entirety. I do know that the meat from the butcher roughly runs around $1.99/lb. with a little variance. Take that you corporate giants!
