I got home yesterday afternoon, and much to my chagrin, I was still quite tired. I came home to find that B wasn't feeling well either. He was kind of in a mood, so around 8:00 to 8:30, I told M to come to mommy's room and we would watch cartoons together. I know it wasn't long and I was asleep.
Isn't it amazing how when we are young and in college, we can stay up until 3 or 4 in the morning or sometimes even all night, and it doesn't seem to phase us? You get a job, start a family, and you essentially become the parents that you didn't understand when you were little.
I remember when I was around 9 or 10 and my parents would go back to their room to take a nap, and my brother and I both thought they were nuts. Now, there are Saturday and Sunday afternoons when I am praying to G-d for M to go to sleep and begging M to close his eyes...all so I can get some sleep.
Back to the original thoughts....
Well, I'm awake now and the boys are still asleep in my bed. M is cuddled up against B, and they are both snoring. M's snore is oh so soft and begins just where B's ends. It's moments like those, when you are looking at the two men in your life that hold your heart in their hands, sleeping so peacefully, and you remember just how blessed you are and thank G-d for your life.
As I quietly closed the door to let them sleep, I heard a sigh from M. I pray his dreams are peaceful.
